A sheepherder or shepherd is a person who tends, feeds, herds, or guards a herd of sheep. It is amongst the oldest occupations in India. Sheep were owned for their milk, meat and especially their wool. It is the duty of a shepherd to maintain a large flock where sheep can move anywhere easily. The most productive breeds of sheep can be left free in the field; hardier breeds of sheep can be left in the hillsides. Experience the inner beauty and charm of village cultures and traditions of the urban community in the Shepherd House.
