Impressive Boraj Fort (dated back to 500 years back) is one of the most impudent thikanas and among the most renowned Tazmi Thikana of Khangarots in Jaipur. Situated near 35-40 km away from Jaipur, Boraj is well known for the glorious history of Khangarot clan. Gigantic and imposing walls of Boraj Fort still portrays the scars of wars that held during that period, Rao ancestors attack Boraj and dominated it in 1549. After conquering with Boraj Rao Jagmal and his son Rao Khangar conquered Jobner, Kalakh, Naraina, and surrounding areas. Boraj fort is also famous as Rao Khangar the founder of Khangarot subclan of Kachwaha Rajput queens were used to stay in this fort from decades and later became “sati” after Khangar’s death in Mandal battle. The fort was ruled by prominent warriors and rulers of Khangarot dynasty. Presently, Boraj Fort is owned by Boraj Family and now turned as a heritage attraction for tourists who visit Jaipur.
