Boraj got conquered by Khangar’s
Gigantic walls of Boraj Fort dated back to around 500 years back during the Khangarot clan and Kachwaha dynasty of the prehistoric era. Presently owned by Thakur Trivendra Singh Ji, it is the most prominent Tazmi Thikana of Khangarots in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The impressive architecture of Boraj Fort is one of the best examples of war forts of a bygone era. Rao Jagmal and his son Rao Khangar with his four brothers attack Boraj and conquered it in 1549. Since after conquering Boraj, Rao Jagmal and his son Rao Khangar conquered Jobner, Kalakh, Naraina, and its nearby areas.
The current realm in Boraj
Descendants of Thakur Shivdaan Singh Ji presently rule the Boraj that come into existence as an important Thikana in 1763. On behalf of the old records Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh, I himself visited Boraj Haveli during this period and gave it the title of Tazmi Thikana by rewarding Zari Turban, elephant, sword, and Khadag.
The bravery of Khangarot clan
During the reign of Thakur Sakat Singh in 1786, a vicious battle was fought just 6 months before, it was against the Marathas. The battle was fought bravely by Khangarot brothers and Jawaan Singh the brother of Thakur Sakat Singh achieved a heroic rate along with other courageous Khangarots. Since after this battle of Toonga Thakur Sakat Singh fought bravely and showed the valor and lionhearted nature of Rajput and Khagarots. He was rewarded with three important villages in 1787 after Toonga war.
Embellishments to the fort
Thakur Zorawar Singh added some Mahals in the architecture of Boraj Fort to make Boraj Thikana financially more powerful. He adopted Thakur Ganpat Singh from Thikana Hirnoda and was the last ancestor of Thakur in Boraj before the independence of India. His son Thakkur Sajjan Singh is well-educated Thakur of Boraj who presently owned the Boraj Fort.
